The Western Australia's Innovators of the Year 2024 program launch was hosted by Perth Morning Startup on Wednesday 24 April.

At the event, the WA innovation and entrepreneurial community attended in person and via livestream to observe the launch of the 2024 awards program, which was officially opened by the Hon Stephen Dawson MLC.

The Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy also revealed the new and improved look of the awards program and provided an announcement promising that a 6th award category for innovation within the public sector would be opening soon.

Now in its 18th year, the 2024 program will recognise WA innovators across 6 award categories. Category winners will share in a prize pool of $240,000, with the Emerging and Growth category winners to be awarded $60,000 each.

A panel of guest speakers including Minister Dawson, Professor Fiona Wood - AO, FRCS, FRACS, Patron of the program, and previous winners Adam Falconer-West (CEO, Franmarine) and Kirstin Butcher (CEO, Genvis) discussed the exciting opportunities presented by the program. The former winners also provided insight into their own successes since taking part in WA's Innovator's of the Year.
