As part of National Child Protection Week 2024, Child Protection Minister Hon Sabine Winton and the Department of Communities have put the call out to source new books and toys for children and young people in care.
Western Australian children in care are cared for by foster carers, family carers or live in residential care.
The book and toy drive will support the learning and development of children and young people in care.
We are calling on the generosity of Western Australians to assist with donations of new books and toys to support children in care of all ages.
New books and toys can be dropped off at selected local Member of Parliament’s offices. View collection locations or email nationalchildprotectionweek@communities.wa.gov.au for your nearest location.
All new books and toys should be dropped off by 13 September 2024.
