In April, the first official Western Australian overseas mission since January 2020 landed in Western Australia’s largest ASEAN trade partner, Singapore.

Deputy Premier Roger Cook was joined by Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull and JTSI Deputy Director General Strategy and International Engagement Simone Spencer.

Given Western Australia’s proximity to its Asian neighbours, international trade with countries like Singapore, has long been the lifeblood of the Western Australian economy.

As a result, the State exports more to Asia than any other Australian state or territory.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Western Australian Investment and Trade office in Singapore.

The office was established as a result of the strong investment and trade relationship between Western Australia and Singapore.

Western Australia’s Investment and Trade Commissioner for ASEAN Krista Dunstan, Tourism Western Australia Country Manager Singapore Ava Ang and the Singapore office, stand ready to work with businesses within the ASEAN region to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes in investment, trade and tourism.

Singapore remains one of Western Australia’s critical markets for tourists and international students.
