The issues paper was produced in partnership with Curtin University School of Design and Built Environment student Maya Yamamoto-Portelli, who conducted a community survey as part of a larger research project to ascertain what types of discrimination impacted the WA Community in the space of shared public facilities such as change rooms, bathrooms and toilets.
The paper includes survey responses from 474 people who identify as, trans, gender diverse, cis-gendered, people with a disability and carers of people of a different gender and explores the impacts of both all gendered and gendered public facilities, as well as exploring solutions for mitigating those impacts.
The Changing rooms for gender diversity issues paper is available on our website.
