Leading the Change Western Australia, International Day of People with Disability

This year, Western Australia has adopted a bespoke theme for International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD): Leading the Change.

Leading the Change is a call to action for increased representation and opportunities for people with disability, particularly in employment. It seeks to encourage individuals, community and work groups promote inclusion and accessibility, and support people with disability to thrive in their workplaces.

It has been found that employing more people with disability results in:

  • increased workplace cohesion and respect for difference
  • increased innovation
  • access to a broader talent pool
  • a business more reflective of the community
  • increased revenue
  • improved productivity levels.

Our dedicated Leading the Change webpage shares key statistics, celebration ideas and information about how you can get involved. Resources are also now available.
