The Commissioner thanked Langford Aboriginal Association for inviting him to the morning tea and felt honoured to hear some of the men's stories throughout the event.
"Langford Aboriginal Association has created a wonderful, supportive space for the men within its community, which was wonderful to observe," he said.
Dr Byrne spoke about the Commission's function in endeavouring to resolve discrimination complaints and focused on race discrimination as something Aboriginal people face constantly in WA in the areas of employment and goods and services.
He also used the opportunity to present William Osbern the award for the 2023 Aboriginal Calendar design which was accepted by Stephen Kirby of the Langford Aboriginal Association.
