More Western Australians eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

News story
Thousands of people will soon be rolling up their sleeves to receive their COVID-19 vaccination as part of WA’s phased vaccination program.

Following the arrival of 21,000 doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, a new COVID-19 vaccination clinic will open at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) on Sunday 7 March, 2021.

Anyone from Phase 1A who has not already had their COVID-19 vaccination can now book a spot at the PCEC.

Phase 1A (external link) includes quarantine and border workers, frontline health care worker sub-groups for prioritisation, aged care workers and residents, and disability care workers and residents. Those eligible in this phase have already been contacted by email to make an appointment.

Emergency service workers will also be eligible to receive their COVID-19 vaccine at this clinic, and will be contacted by email and invited to book an appointment.

WA Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services staff will be invited to book from Sunday, 7 March.

Other high critical and high risk workers will be invited to book their appointment from Monday, 8 March.

Only those eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations will be able to attend the clinic.

Clinics at further hospital and health campus sites will be opening up next week.
