Bring your whole self to an interview, leave your ego at the door and act with respect.

These are some of the tips shared with UWA students as part of the Career-Ready Professional Branding Series – a partnership between The University of Western Australia and A place of opportunity.

Students heard from Natasha and Amy who run 2 of the largest WA public sector graduate programs. They said recruiters are not just looking at academic records but want to get to know what the person stands for – their values and interests as well as their ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.

It’s these ‘soft’ skills that really make candidates valuable employees for agencies that deliver vital services to Western Australians.
