On Monday 29 March Mike and Stephen, together with officers from the WA Ombudsman, the Commonwealth Ombudsman and HaDSCO, held information stalls in the Northam shopping centre. On the following two days they conducted Aboriginal community training sessions and complaint clinics in Merredin and Northam.

Mike said spending time in the Wheatbelt with representatives from other organisations provided a fantastic opportunity to meet the community.

"The people of Northam and Merredin were very interested in equal opportunity law and had discussions with Steve and me about how it impacted them in regional areas.

"It is so important to get out to rural areas in WA, because issues change from town to town depending on the people and events happening within that community at that particular time," he said.
