Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section have charged a 35-year-old man in relation to a crash that occurred in Broome on Saturday 23 November 2024.
About 12am, a white Mazda CX-5 station sedan and a pedestrian collided on Hamersley Street, near Short Street.
The 23-year-old female pedestrian was flown to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of critical injuries received.
A 35-year-old man from Bilingurr has been charged with:
• 1 x Driver Failed to Stop and Ensure Assistance received after Incident Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm
• 1 x Driver Fail to Report an Incident Occasioning Death or Grievous Bodily Harm
He is next due to appear before the Broome Magistrates Court on Monday 23 December 2024.
The investigation remains ongoing.
