Streamline WA Progress Report September 22

The latest six-month progress report on the Streamline WA initiative has been published, and reflects the successes and challenges of implementing a whole-of-government approach to improve Western Australia’s regulatory approvals system.

It highlights strong and consistent leadership as key to achieving sustained improvement across key themes of legislation and regulation, systems and processes, resources and workload, and in particular people and culture to meet the WA Government’s aim of encouraging economic investment, and create more jobs.

The report includes case studies of implemented change that makes a real-world difference to how business is done in Western Australia, including the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s development of an online Aquaculture Management and Reporting System. This system allows aquaculture licence holders and exemption holders to more efficiently submit aquaculture related reports as required under licence conditions or regulations.

Streamline WA is a whole-of-government initiative to make it easier to do business in WA by improving regulation and regulatory practice. You can find out more online.
