State Budget goes online
10/5/00
This year, for the first time, State Budget details will be sent out by e-mail to interested people.
The Budget newsletter will be e-mailed out tomorrow afternoon as soon as the Premier's Budget Speech had been presented to Parliament, Commerce and Trade Minister Hendy Cowan said.
"People interested in how the Government will be spending its funds over the next year can easily subscribe to this new free service," Mr Cowan said.
"A wealth of information will be available at the Business and Investment Gateway service on the Internet, and you can go to that site now to subscribe to the e-mail service and ensure you get your Budget newsletter.
"The newsletter will give you quick and direct access to this Budget information, plus a direct link to the State Treasury information on all Government project expenditure and revenue for the coming year.
"This information is particularly important to people in the non-metropolitan regions, because we're producing region-by-region breakdowns of spending across all portfolios."
Mr Cowan said details of spending in science and technology, information and communications and budget details for the Department of Commerce and Trade would also be available.
The Business and Investment Gateway is at http://big.wa.gov.au
