Kathlene Oliver is the Assistant Director General of the Business and Corporate Services division at the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH). As a specialist in strategy, operational performance and governance, she embraces innovation to build strong organisations aligned to a vision.
Kathlene joined DPLH in 2019, and during her time with the department has led the development of DPLH’s Strategic Plan, as well as leading the department’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wooroloo bushfire and Cyclone Seroja events. Prior to commencing at DPLH, Kathlene was the Director of Business Innovation at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. Here she led the whole of department transformation following the Machinery of Government integration of the departments of Commerce and Mines and Petroleum, establishing the new organisational structure for the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.
Kathlene has held executive level positions in both the public and private sectors and has over 12 years’ experience driving and delivering operational performance, governance and strategy reform outcomes in complex and multi-national organisations.
Kathlene holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science (Honours).
