Rosh Ireland is the Director, Clean Energy and National Policy. This Division coordinates Western Australia’s involvement in national energy policy and supports the Minister’s participation in the former COAG Energy Council and the new Energy Ministers Committee under the National Cabinet reforms. The Division also provides advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean energy technologies, including electric vehicles, supporting the Clean Energy Future Fund, the Renewable Hydrogen Strategy and the Future Battery Industry Strategy.
From 2003 to July 2017, Rosh was a Director in the Cabinet and Policy Division of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. He provided strategic policy advice in the areas of environment, climate change, water, energy project approvals and regulation, and natural resource management.
Before moving to Western Australia, Rosh worked for the Queensland Environment Protection Agency and for the Commonwealth Government.
He studied marine biology and biochemistry in Townsville and has a postgraduate certificate in public sector management.
