The fifth meeting of the Directors General ICT Council was held on 3 November 2016 at Dumas House.

No decisions were made as it was an inquorate, however members who attended considered the following matters:

Strategic ICT Leadership

Members discussed the recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee Report on Doing ICT Better as they relate to the Council’s Terms of Reference.

WA Data Classification Policy

The policy provides the minimum protection levels required to ensure integrity of government data, and provides consistency in the language and terms used. Members discussed cross-agency data exchanges and additional security options for ‘unclassified’ data. Members supported the need for a Data Classification Policy.

GovNext-ICT Benefits Realisation Management Strategy

Members commented that it will be a complex job to analyse and report on the data collected from agencies. It is therefore crucial that the WA Government recruits the right people for the job.

Next meeting

A DG ICT Council meeting will be scheduled for December 2016.
