The twelfth meeting of the Directors General ICT Council was held on 4 September 2018 at Dumas House.
Members considered the following matters:
Director Generals ICT Council Directions 2018-19 and BATAC Work Plan 2018
The Council endorsed the Service Delivery Plan and requested that the actions and next steps in ICT Procurement Reform be amended to reflect the Council’s comments.
Information Classification Policy Discussion Paper
The Council noted the change of name of the policy from ‘Data Classification’ to ‘Information Classification’, and endorsed release of the Information Classification Policy Discussion Paper to the wider sector for comment.
Cyber Security Update and OAG 2018 Information Systems Audit Report
The Council was provided with a summary of the 2018 Information Systems Audit by the Auditor General.
Council members agreed to mentor other agencies to lift the maturity of cyber security practices across the sector.
GovNext-ICT Program – Governance Board Status Update
The Council was provided with an update on the GovNext-ICT Program by David Etherton, the Independent Chair of the GovNext-ICT Program Governance Board.
The Council agreed that the Chair of the GovNext-ICT Program Governance Board should be a member of the Council, and agreed that the Board and Council’s Terms of Reference should be amended to reflect the Board as a sub-committee of the Council.
GovNext-ICT Independent Review
The Council was provided with a summary on the GovNext-ICT Independent Assessment by G. Searle. It was noted that the report was still to be finalised.
ServiceWA – Omni Channel Pilot Project Business Case
The Council noted the proposed approach for establishing a customer focused ServiceWA pilot and it agreed that the focus would be on digital service delivery and that the pilot should use the Department of Transport’s architecture.
ICT Reform and Renewal Fund Status and Review (IRRF)
The Council requested a review of discretionary projects funded from the IRRF against objectives of the fund, to inform future expenditure decision making.

The next meeting of the DG ICT Council meeting is scheduled for 4 December 2018.
