PlanWA FAQ

Q. How frequently is the data updated?

A. Data shown in PlanWA is updated weekly.

Q. Why can’t I find a Structure Plan?

A. Only Structure Plans approved by the WAPC after 19 October 2015 are available through PlanWA.

Please contact the relevant local government for earlier Structure Plans.

Q. Why can’t I see information about all the Planning layers when I use ‘Run a Planning Enquiry’ or ‘Find data on the map’?

A. The ‘Run a Planning Enquiry’ is not based on the visible layer. The information provided is from pre-determined list such as Local Planning Schemes, Region Schemes, Structure Plans and Layout Plans, which may change overtime.

To find out more information on the visible layers please use ‘Find data’ on the map.

Q. Where can I find help or instructions on how to use PlanWA?

A. An instructional video is available from the launch page (above this section).

Q. Which web browsers will PlanWA work with?

A. PlanWA has been tested using:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Internet Explorer (version 9 and above)
  • Microsoft Edge

Q. Why can’t I find my address?

A. The address search function requires the official Western Australian land parcel address as listed on the property Title. In some cases, the land parcel address may be different to the postal address.
