Three local entities have been recognised as finalists in the 2021 Australian Defence Industry Awards for their outstanding work in a variety of categories including cyber-security, training and workforce development, and support for veterans.
Western Australia is a recognised leader in the cyber-security domain and continues to invest in workforce development to ensure we are ready to deliver what Defence needs.
The WA Government is also working hard to position the state as the location of choice for veterans to call home, and we celebrate the recognition of our local finalists in these key areas:
South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) is vying for the Academic Institution of the Year. With more than 20 years’ experience in the defence shipbuilding and sustainment industry, world-class facilities and strong industry relationships, SM TAFE provides the high-quality training that employers need.
Red Piranha’s mission is to provide cyber-security for everyone. As a finalist in the Cyber Business of the Year, the company has demonstrated their capability to innovate, redefine and remove boundaries in cybersecurity to support the defence sector with their Crystal Eye XDR security operations platform.
Working Spirit encourages businesses to ‘capture the talent’ of military veterans by creating connections between companies looking for trustworthy and hardworking individuals, and Australian Defence Force members who are transitioning to civilian life. With 150 skilled veterans now meaningfully employed, Working Spirit is a deserving finalist for the Veteran Support Program of the Year.
Winners will be announced on 7 December 2021.
