The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is supporting seven women from the metropolitan area and the regions to participate in the Elevate Female Founders program, run by consultants We Are Emersyn.
The program brings together entrepreneurs, mentors and top industry experts to build participants’ capability and capacity to run successful businesses.
DPIRD Agribusiness Food and Trade Executive Director Liam O’Connell said the 12 month program had been tailored to address the challenges and opportunities of becoming successful business women.
“The department is pleased to provide co-funding to this group of women to attend the We Are Emersyn’s program, which also provides an opportunity for like minded people to network and share experiences,” he said.
“The training program has a focus on the structured growth process achieved through expert sessions, mentoring, skills development and accountability in a supportive peer network.
“There are many fantastic female leaders and role models across many of our agrifood and beverage businesses and supporting them will help improve the vitality of this important sector.”
The participants in the program supported by DPIRD include:
- Katherine Kwee, Keto Kitchen Corner (Bull Creek)
- Mette Nielsen, Mette is Baking (Applecross)
- Sharon Edkins, CocoMe (Booragoon)
