Amendments to duties concession for farm-in agreements

On 28 November 2018, the Minister for Finance announced amendments to the duties concession for farm-in agreements involving mining tenements.

The amendments will restore the historical operation of the concession and ensure that eligible agreements continue to qualify for duty relief. Amendments will also exclude agreements from accessing the duty concession where the exploration amount involves expenditure in connection with mining operations or capital costs associated with the construction of mining infrastructure.
