The WA Government has launched the latest round of the Defence Ready Initiative.

These grants aim to invest a total of $200,000 into the Western Australian small and medium enterprise base, to support the expansion of the WA defence industry.

Funding can be used for planning and business advice, improving internal business infrastructure and systems, employee training, or purchasing and upgrading essential equipment.

Businesses can also use funds to cover expenses associated with meeting essential requirements for supply chain entry, including compliance with Defence security standards.

The 2023/2024 grant round saw 60 applications for the Defence Ready Initiative, resulting in 14 successful applicants receiving funding amounts ranging from $3,500 to $20,000.
