Applications for 5 rounds of the Local Capability Fund are now open. 

Since its inception in 2011, more than 870 local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have received total funding of $30.9 million. 

The LCF has also generated over $1.5 billion in new contracts won by WA SMEs and created more than 2,800 jobs and over 350 apprenticeships to date. 

Supporting small businesses throughout the State, a $5 million boost is available with up to $50,000 offered across five rounds. 

The four State-wide rounds are:  

  • Supplying Key Projects Round – assists SMEs in meeting requirements to supply to large-scale projects. 
  • Aboriginal Business Round – supports Aboriginal-owned businesses to enhance capability and participate in government and private sector supply chains. 
  • Standards Compliance Round – provides funding to help businesses obtain technical certifications and industry standards. 
  • Digital Transformation Round – helps businesses adopt new technologies or upgrade digital systems to improve efficiency and competitiveness. 

The Regional Supplier Round is open to SMEs located across Western Australia’s nine regions:  

  • Gascoyne region 
  • Goldfields-Esperance region 
  • Great Southern region 
  • Kimberley region 
  • Mid West region 
  • Wheatbelt region 
  • Peel region 
  • Pilbara region 
  • South West region 

"Through the Local Capability Fund, we are ensuring small businesses are equipped with the skills they need to get the most out of my government's Made in WA plan and be prepared for the future," said Premier Roger Cook. 

Applications for Local Capability Fund 2025-26 Rounds will close 3:00pm (AWST), 4 September 2025.
