The State Government’s 2025-26 Mid-year Review is continuing targeted investment in skills and training to strengthen jobs, housing, and health outcomes – and smiles – across Western Australia.

Announced at state-of-the-art dental training facilities at North Metropolitan TAFE’s Leederville campus, the investment comes at a time when interest in studying at TAFE is on the rise.

The investment will open doors for Western Australians to gain skills in priority sectors and support key WA projects showcased in the ‘You can make it here’ campaign.

Key highlights include:

  • Additional investment in publicly funded training at WA TAFE colleges and private training providers.
  • $10 million for 1,000 new places through the Build a Life in WA incentive and the Construction Visa Subsidy Program – each offering a $10,000 incentive to attract skilled workers to WA’s construction industry.
  • $3.1 million in one-off Temporary Regional Attraction Incentives for eligible TAFE lecturers in the Pilbara, Kimberley, and Kalgoorlie in 2026.

Fee free and low fee courses, new facilities, and modern equipment at WA TAFE colleges are helping to boost enrolments in priority areas such as electrical, carpentry, engineering, nursing, and early childhood education.
