The Build a Life in WA incentive has been expanded to eligible New Zealand citizens.

A $10,000 incentive is on offer to help building and construction workers with costs to relocate to Western Australia.

From January 2025, those moving to WA to take up jobs in an eligible occupation in the building and construction sector will be able to apply for the Build a Life in WA incentive.

This includes:

  • Australian citizens and residents from all Australian states and territories outside of WA and,
  • New Zealand citizens eligible for a Special Category Visa (Subclass 444) on arrival in Australia.

WA has a strong pipeline of building and construction projects, particularly in the residential housing sector, making it the perfect time to explore opportunities in WA.

To continue to build the local pipeline of skilled tradespeople, an additional 175 places for Western Australians to complete an apprenticeship or traineeship are also being supported through the Group Training Organisation Wage Subsidy Program. This brings the total to 775 subsidised apprentice and trainee places.
