From non-traditional trades to emerging industries, the 2026 WA Training Awards presentation ceremony showcased the talent, innovation and dedication that will continue to drive Western Australia’s future workforce.

Hosted by the Department of Training and Workforce Development on 10 September 2026, the State's outstanding achievers were recognised for their commitment to skills development and workforce excellence.

Held annually, the WA Training Awards are the State's premier celebration of excellence in vocational education and training (VET), recognising the skills, achievements and contributions of students, apprentices, trainees, trainers, training providers, employers and organisations across Western Australia.

The awards celebrated a diverse cohort of skilled workers, with seven of this year’s eight individual WA Training Awards winners being women, several of whom work in non-traditional trades.

Excellence was also demonstrated by winners who developed their skills in emerging and priority industries through vocational education and training. Their success highlights the critical role the training sector has in supporting a highly skilled workforce and creating rewarding career opportunities for Western Australians.

Representing a diverse range of industries, occupations and regions, the 2026 WA Training Awards highlighted the strength and talent of the State’s VET sector.
