One of the key actions identified by the Just Transition Working Group was the establishment of a “One-stop Shop” to provide Government support during the transition.

The “One-stop Shop” will be within the South West Development Commission’s (SWDC) new, centrally-located Collie office in the old post office building.

When established, it will provide access to appropriate (existing) support services from a range of providers, all in the one place. It will be the link between individuals and the services they may require during the transition process. The confidentiality and anonymity of all individuals will be maintained.

The type of services that may be available at the “One-stop Shop” could include:

  • Business advice (perhaps to establish a new business)
  • Financial planning
  • Retirement planning and connection to volunteering opportunities
  • Career guidance and support (this could include CV writing and tailored and personalised career development plans)
  • Innovation and entrepreneurial business support
  • Links to other Government and community services, such as mental health support.
