Following the WA Government’s decision to regulate embedded networks and On-site power supply (OPS) arrangements under the AES framework, Energy Policy WA is now consulting on the Code of Practice for OPS providers.
The Code of Practice sets out obligations OPS providers will have to comply with.
Consultation of the draft AES Code of Practice for OPS services closes at 5.00pm (AWST) on the 15 May 2026.
AES registration for OPS providers will commence on 2 February 2027, with the ERA to conduct a three-month public interest test on all OPS provider registrations.
Consultation on the draft AES Code of Practice for SPN services is expected in the second half of 2026, with AES registration for SPN providers being delayed to mid-2027.
