The Coordinator of Energy has determined, following Western Power’s submission, to trigger a NCESS procurement process for Reliability and System Strength Services in the North Country.

The Coordinator of Energy (Coordinator) received a submission from Western Power on 17 April 2026 requesting that the Coordinator trigger a Non‑Co‑optimised Essential System Services (NCESS) procurement process for Reliability and System Strength Services for the North Country region of the South West Interconnected System. 

The Coordinator has published a determination under clause 3.11A of the Electricity System and Market Rules, outlining the reasons for triggering the NCESS procurement process in this instance.
