A message from the State of Emergency Coordinator

Commissioner of WA Police, Chris Dawson

A State of Emergency has been declared in Western Australia under the Emergency Management Act as a result of the coronavirus pandemic that is affecting the entire world and indeed our very own community

Declarations have also been made under the Public Health Act.

Under those declarations, I have made Directions as the State Emergency Coordinator in the interests of public health and safety.

You can read more about the directions at WA.gov.au.

I have faith in our community. Western Australians are generally sensible and community minded, and I encourage all community members to closely follow the advice of health officials who are working tirelessly to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19 in our community.

I urge the community to support Police in this challenging time but more importantly, support each other.

Care for each other. Show respect and consideration for each other. Be patient and heed the advice of the Health Department through information provided at their websites.

As a community we will pull through this.
