The Minister for Energy has approved the Electricity System and Market Amendment (Tranche 8) Rules 2025.
These Amending Rules are the first published under the new name 'Electricity System and Market Rules' (formerly named the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules).
An exposure draft of the Tranche 8 amendments was published on 27 March 2025 and the consultation period closed on 8 May 2025. 14 written public submissions were received. Responses to the submissions can be found here.
Energy Policy WA also held two stakeholder forums of the Transformation Design and Operation Working Group (TDOWG) during the consultation process.
The notice of the amendments was published in the Government Gazette on 3 June 2025.
Schedules 1 and 2 will commence at 8am on 4 June 2025.
