eRideable Crash Investigation - Scarborough

Road Policing Group North officers are investigating a traffic crash that occurred in Scarborough on Sunday, 30 August 2026.

About 7.30pm, two juveniles were riding an eScooter north on Huntriss Road near the intersection of Boronia Street when the rider allegedly lost control, causing both riders to be thrown onto the roadway.

The two juveniles, both aged 14 years, were conveyed by St John WA to Perth Children's Hospital for medical treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The eScooter has been seized for examination as part of the investigation. Police will examine all circumstances surrounding the crash, including compliance with applicable road laws and safety requirements.

Police are reminding the community that eRideables are designed for a single rider and passengers are not permitted under Western Australian road laws.

As eRideables become increasingly popular, police continue to attend incidents resulting in serious injuries and fatalities involving these devices.
