Esplanade Park opened to City of Melville community

The City of Melville has launched a new public open space, following the official opening of 13 The Esplanade in Mount Pleasant.

The new park, opened on Sunday 24 May at 13 The Esplanade, connects Kishorn Road and The Esplanade.

The 2,000 square metre space includes a new concrete footpath, playground and installation of garden beds, trees, plants and grass.

The project was made possible through a Lotterywest grant of $465,582 for the playground, seating and gathering spaces, plants and art and a further $150,000 WA Government Election Commitment for additional work such as enhancements to the children’s playground and planting of mature trees.

As part of the project, Noongar artist Justin Martin installed artwork on the footpath.
