Officers from the Regional Operations Group have charged three people following an evade police incident that occurred in South Perth overnight, Thursday 9 July 2026.
About 8.45pm, police attempted to stop a silver Holden Commodore on Canning Highway. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens, however; it will be alleged the driver failed to stop and an evade police incident ensued.
Police will further allege the vehicle was being driven in a reckless manner before leaving the road and crashing into a fence near the intersection of Mill Point Road. The male driver was arrested.
It will be alleged a female then attempted to drive the vehicle away following the crash but was also arrested. A quantity of Methylamphetamine was subsequently located in the vehicle.
A 37-year-old man from Safety Bay was arrested and charged with;
1x Reckless driving
1x No authority to drive – cancelled
1x Driver fail to stop - property damage
1x Driver of a vehicle failed to comply with a direction to stop
A 32-year-old woman from Calista was arrested and charged with;
1x Obstructing public officers
1x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
1x No authority to drive (fines suspended)
A 34-year-old man from Medina was arrested and charged with;
1x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
