Women living, working and making a difference across regional and rural Western Australia are reminded to nominate now for the 2026 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award, with applications closing soon.

WA award co-ordinator Fiona Shallcross, of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, said the awards celebrate the inclusive and courageous leadership of women in Australia’s rural and emerging industries.

“The AgriFutures Rural Women's State award is open to all women in WA involved in rural industries or taking part in rural and regional businesses and communities,” Ms Shallcross said.

“The winner receives a $15,000 bursary for their project, business or program, and access to professional development opportunities and alumni networks.”

Kimberley fashion innovator and pastoralist Isabella Thrupp was honoured with the 2025 WA AgriFutures Rural Women's Award and last week was announced runner-up in the national awards in Canberra.

Ms Thrupp founded the online business Prinking in Pindan, which creates stylish and durable clothing suitable for the demanding lifestyle of rural women.

She is passionate about fostering connections between rural and urban communities, championing sustainability and innovation.

“Applications for the 2026 AgriFutures Rural Women's State award have been extended by several days and now close on 10 November 2025,” Ms Shallcross said.

The WA award is supported by AgriFutures Australia, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Westpac and CBH Group.
