Free flu vaccines available in May and June 2025

News story
All Western Australians can receive a free influenza (flu) vaccine this winter to help protect against the flu during peak season.
Last updated:

Free flu vaccines are available from 1 May – 30 June 2025 to protect Western Australians during the peak flu period.

The flu is highly contagious and can lead to life-threatening complications.

With over 3,442 flu cases already reported this year, it’s more important than ever to get vaccinated to prevent severe illness, reduce the risk of spreading the virus and reduce the risk of hospitalisation.

Who is eligible for the free flu vaccine?

Free flu vaccines will be available to all WA residents aged six months and older, including interstate or international visitors and those who do not have a Medicare card.

The vaccine is especially recommended for those who are most at-risk, including:

  • People older than 65
  • Children aged from six months to 11 or 12 (year 6)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over six months old
  • People who are immunocompromised or have serious medical conditions.
