The draft Methodology, Inputs, Scenarios and Assumptions (MISA) and accompanying Inputs and Assumptions Workbook for the Future Energy System Outlook (FESO) 2027 is now open for stakeholder feedback.

The FESO is a detailed, scenarios‑based study that guides planning and infrastructure investment in the SWIS to 2050. Each scenario presents a distinct and plausible view of how electricity demand and supply in the SWIS may evolve over time.

Publication of the draft MISA marks an important milestone in the development of FESO 2027 and provides stakeholders with an opportunity to ensure the inputs and assumptions reflect emerging conditions, priorities and opportunities.

The Department of Energy and Economic Diversification will be hosting a webinar outlining the proposed modelling methodology and opportunities to provide feedback. Further details about the webinar will be published shortly.

Stakeholders are invited to provide written submissions on the MISA by 5:00 pm (AWST) 30 October 2026 by emailing EPWA-Info@deed.wa.gov.au.

Please note submissions may be published unless confidentiality is specifically requested.
