Following the establishment of the new Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration in July 2025, the RER eNews has been refreshed with a new look and a new name – Future Prospects – to more fully reflect the work happening across the groups.
The first edition of Future Prospects has just been published.
The Abandoned Mines Program is celebrating its 10 year anniversary, a Wardens Court Associates team has commenced within the Resource Tenure branch, and the Resource Sector Awards are returning on 30 October.
Public consultation will soon open on the second tranche of legislative amendments supporting carbon capture and storage.
The department has also released the latest Compliance and Enforcement Report to inform stakeholders of ongoing efforts to ensure responsible resource development.
