The WA Government invites you to have your say on keeping the GST share fair for Western Australia.

The Productivity Commission is currently reviewing how GST is distributed across Australia, and your input can help ensure WA continues to receive the funding needed for essential services like hospitals, schools and infrastructure.

Did you know?

  •  If the current GST share was reversed WA could stand to lose $6 billion per annum.
  •  WA represents 11% of the nation’s population but currently receives only 8.2% of the GST share.
  •  WA has the lowest share of GST per person than any other state.
  •  WA produced over 45% of Australia’s goods exports but only receives 8.2% of the GST share.

Western Australia’s GST is working for Australia. It’s invested to help fund essential infrastructure like roads, ports and power – supporting the WA projects that drive the national economy.

By having your say,  you can support WA’s efforts to maintain its fair share of GST  – helping to protect the services and opportunities that benefit our communities and the nation.

This is part of the ‘WA’s GST is working for Australia’ campaign, which highlights the importance of a fair GST deal for all Western Australians.
