Specialist Strike Force Vulcan officers are seeking the public’s assistance for information as they investigate a bushfire in High Wycombe on Wednesday, 7 January 2026.

About 2.30pm, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were notified of a fire in bushland along Roe Highway near Maida Vale Road.

The fire burnt through 10 hectares of native vegetation and bushland before it was extinguished.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, and Strike Force Vulcan officers’ urge anyone with any information relating to this fire to contact Crime Stoppers online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by phone on 1800 333 000.  Reports can be made anonymously.

Anyone with CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam vision of any suspicious persons, or activity in the area of this fire, is asked to upload the vision direct investigators via the link: https://wapf.au.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/vulcan. 
 
Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
