Detectives from the Homicide Squad have charged a 38-year-old man following an investigation into the death of a 28-year-old woman in St James on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
About 8.30pm, police received a report of an unresponsive female located with critical injuries at a residence on Taree Street in St James.
The 28-year-old woman was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA where she was declared deceased.
It will be alleged the accused assaulted the woman in the days prior to her death, causing extensive injuries which resulted in her death.
Police will allege the offending occurred in the context of a family and domestic relationship.
A 38-year-old St James man has been charged with one count of ‘Murder’.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday 28 August 2026.
