Strike Force Vulcan officers are seeking the public’s assistance for information as they continue to investigate a scrub fire that occurred in Bertram about 3pm on Saturday, 17 January 2026.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and police attended the fire which was burning in bushland boarded by Johnson Road, Squires Avenue and Centennial Avenue.
The fire was extinguished before it could spread to nearby homes.
Investigators would like to speak to the male pictured below who was seen in the area around the time of the fire and who may information to assist with the investigation.
There were several members of the public in the area around the time of the fire, and investigators urge anyone who saw, or has vision of, any suspicious activity relating to this fire, to contact Crime Stoppers either online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.
