Strike Force Vulcan officers are seeking the public’s assistance for information as they investigate a scrub fire that occurred in Peron on Saturday, 17 January 2026.

About 9.10pm, a fire started in vegetation in the reserve area adjacent to Rockingham Lakes Regional Park near the intersection of Lease Road and Memorial Drive.   Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) attended and were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread further into bushland.  

Strike Force Vulcan officers wish to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire.  Anyone with any information relating to this fire is urged to contact Crime Stoppers either online at  www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.  Reports can be made anonymously.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
