The theme for the 2021 Energy in Western Australia Conference is Change and all that it encompasses.

The conference program will look at the current status and trends in energy policy and regulation, primary fuel supply and demand, technology changes, markets and disruption, emissions and consumer trends.

We are pleased to announce some key speakers from Energy Policy WA:

Kate Ryan

 

Kate Ryan, Coordinator of Energy will emcee one of the days. 

Kate Ryan was appointed Coordinator of Energy on 5 September 2019. She is also a member of the Energy Transformation Taskforce, which was established to deliver the Government's Energy Transformation Strategy.

Session: Where to next for Western Australia’s energy transformation?

In his role, Steve Edwell has led the delivery of the State’s Energy Transformation Strategy, comprising comprehensive and innovative policy reforms that respond to emerging customer and industry needs, and facilitate investment in technologies and business models of the future. With the Taskforce coming to an end in May, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.

Session: Bringing VaDER in from the dark: unlocking the value of DER

The Distributed Energy Resources Roadmap was the Australia-first plan to integrate Distributed Energy Resources in the power system. One year on, the Roadmap is leading how customers, the network and the system adapt to safely integrate the small-scale devices leading the energy transformation. Join this session to get a better understanding of the pioneering changes made over the last 12 months that seek to unlock the value of customer DER, and the innovative pilots and reforms planned for completion over the next few years.
