As part of Keep Australia Beautiful Week, we gave away 20 environmental library book packs to schools and local government libraries across WA, helping inspire future environmental champions. Find out if you were one of the lucky winners here.
A key feature of this year’s celebrations is SPOGOMI, the litter-picking sport that turns environmental action into a team competition. Teams of three collect and sort litter to earn points, promoting teamwork, physical activity and environmental responsibility.
Two SPOGOMI events will be held during the week: a regional competition at Koombana Bay, Bunbury on 3 August, and a metropolitan event at City Beach on 4 August. Australian SPOGOMI ambassador Jason Partington will attend both events.
Communities across WA can also take part in clean-ups, school activities, litter audits and environmental education initiatives throughout the week.
Whether you're competing in SPOGOMI, joining a local clean-up or simply putting your rubbish in the bin, every action helps create cleaner, healthier and happier places for everyone.
