Detectives from the Arson Squad have charged a 34-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a structure fire that occurred in Subiaco on Monday, 12 January 2026.
It will be alleged about 1.20am, the accused set fire to rubbish bins in a rear access laneway behind businesses on Hay Street, before walking away.
The fire quickly spread from the rubbish bins to the roof space of a café, causing over $100,000 damage to the business.
A 34-year-old man from Perth has been charged with ‘Breach of Duty’ and he is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 4 February 2026.
