Meet the finalists for the 2025 Young and Government Innovators of the Year Awards

Six finalists have been announced across the WA Young Innovators of the Year and Government Innovators of the Year categories in the 2025 WA Innovators of the Year Awards.

We are proud to announce the successful finalists of our 2025 Western Australia's (WA) Government Innovators of the Year and Western Australia's (WA) Young Innovators of the Year categories!

Sponsored by the Young Entrepreneurs Academy of WA (YEA), the inaugural WA Young Innovators of the Year category attracted 34 applications from high school students across the State.  

The 3 successful finalists for the first ever WA Young Innovators of the Year category are:

  • Perth Modern School
  • IDEAcademy
  • Willetton Senior High School

All finalists will participate in four bespoke entrepreneurship masterclasses and receive up to 10 hours of mentoring and development support. 

Congratulations to our young finalists who have demonstrated the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of WA’s next generation of innovators.  

Now in its second year, the Government Innovators of the Year category drew strong interest in 2025 with seven entries from both local and State government organisations.  

Sponsored by the Australian Innovation Management Institute (AIMI), this category welcomes 3 successful finalists showcasing innovation in public sector services and delivery:

  • ChemCentre, Forensic Science Laboratory / PathWest, Forensic Biology
  • Town of Victoria Park
  • Western Australian Treasury Corporation

The Government Innovators Award finalists will gain access to AIMI’s Certified Innovation Catalyst Program, with places available for up to five team members from each finalist team. 

Winners of both categories, along with all other 2025 award winners, will be announced at the WAIOTY Awards Ceremony on Monday, 3 November 2025 at Crown Perth.
