The 214 megawatt wind farm becomes the State’s largest wind farm and is a very important addition to the State’s electricity generation fleet.
At full power, the Yandin Wind Farm generates enough renewable energy to supply the equivalent of about 200,000 Western Australian homes.
The US$400 million Yandin Wind Farm consists of 51 turbines, each rising to a height of 180 metres at the top of the blade tip. The turbine rotor diameter is 150m, larger than the London Eye at a mere 120m.
The Yandin Wind Farm is a joint venture between Alinta Energy and RATCH-Australia.
