Detectives from Mirrabooka and Joondalup districts have charged a man with several offences after separate investigations identified, through intelligence and information shared between teams, that the same offender was likely responsible for a number of incidents across districts.

Mirrabooka and Joondalup detectives were initially progressing separate investigations when inquiries identified a common offender. In a collaborative effort, detectives identified, located, apprehended and quickly charged the individual. The coordinated response highlights strong collaboration between districts and the effectiveness of shared intelligence in targeting repeat offenders.

It will be alleged on 11 February 2026, the accused gained entry to a shopping centre on Calectasia Street in Greenwood, where he used power tools to gain access to an ATM and stole a large sum of money.

It is further alleged that on 16 February 2026, the accused stole a forklift from a commercial premises in Balcatta before driving it to a shopping centre on Wanneroo Road in Balcatta. He allegedly drove the forklift through the shopping centre and used it in an attempt to remove an automatic teller machine containing a large quantity of cash. Significant damage was caused to the shopping centre and the ATM; however, he was unsuccessful in removing the ATM or stealing any money.

On 18 February 2026, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in Alexander Heights where the accused was staying. During the search, detectives will allege they located and seized prohibited drugs, a stolen truck and a sum of stolen cash.

Further inquiries identified the truck had been stolen from a business in Balcatta in early January 2026 and had been used in a series of commercial burglary offences.

A 52 year old man from Alexander Heights has been charged with:
• 1 x Aggravated Burglary and Commit on a Place
• 1 x Aggravated Burglary with Intent on a Place
• 1 x Burglary with Intent on a Place
• 2 x Stealing
• 1 x Attempted Stealing
• 1 x Stealing by Opening Locked Room, Box or Other Receptacle by Means of a Key or Other    Instrument
• 1 x No Authority to Drive (disqualified from holding or obtaining)
• 2 x Steal Motor Vehicle
• 1 x Possession of a Prohibited Drug with Intent to Sell or Supply (Methylamphetamine)
• Possess a Prohibited Drug (Cannabis)
• 2 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Heroin)
• 2 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Heroin)
• 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
• 1 x Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or on which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant

The accused appeared in court on 19 February 2026 and was remanded in custody to next appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 19 March 2026.
