National Gas Law: Western Australian adoption of Omnibus Package

Western Australia intends to adopt various minor amendments to the National Gas Law.

The National Gas Access (WA) Act 2009 adopts a modified form of the National Gas Law (NGL) known as the Western Australian National Gas Access Law (NGLWA), which provides a framework for the economic regulation of third-party access to gas pipelines in Western Australia.

This update is to advise stakeholders that the Western Australian Government intends to adopt relevant amendments to the National Gas Law made by the Statutes Amendment (National Energy Laws) (Omnibus) Act 2021 (SA) (Omnibus Package).

Australian jurisdictions other than Western Australia adopted the Omnibus Package on 15 April 2021, which consists of various minor amendments.
