The State Government is expanding electrical training in regional Western Australia, creating new opportunities for students to develop skills for careers that are vital to WA's diversifying economy.
Backed by a $1.15 million investment, South Regional TAFE has established purpose-built electrotechnology workshops and upgraded facilities to support training delivery in Katanning, Esperance and Margaret River.
Through the VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS) program, South Regional TAFE has introduced the Certificate II in Electrotechnology at its Katanning and Esperance campuses, providing Year 11 and 12 students with foundational skills and pathways into electrical trades.
Electrotechnology training is also now available at South Regional TAFE’s Margaret River campus.
Mainstream pre-apprenticeship course delivery started in Semester 2, 2026 and VETDSS pre-apprenticeships will be delivered at the campus from 2027.
